# Can You Use AI Voiceovers Commercially? Rights by Plan Across 10 Tools (2026)

Published: October 9, 2026 · Author: Hitesh Kumawat

Yes, you can use AI voiceovers commercially, but only on the right plan. In the 10 tools we checked, none allows commercial use of audio made on a free plan, and every one lists commercial rights on a paid plan. AI voice commercial use also depends on cloning consent and resale limits.

*Last updated: October 8, 2026. Plan terms were read on each vendor's own pages on October 7 and 8, 2026. This is not legal advice.*

"Commercial use" covers a monetized YouTube video, a client project, an ad, a course you sell or a phone menu for a business. The rule that catches people out is simple: the plan you used when you generated the audio decides what you may do with it.

> **Key Takeaways**
>
> - **Free plans are for testing.** In all 10 tools, free-plan audio is non-commercial, and Typecast also requires attribution on free downloads.
> - **The cheapest way to unlock commercial rights** is a Narakeet $6 top-up, then Typecast Basic at $54 a year and ElevenLabs Starter at $5 a month billed yearly.
> - **Rights are tied to the plan you generated on.** Narakeet and Kukarella tie rights to a paid account, and none of the 10 vendors states that old free audio becomes commercial after you upgrade.
> - **Voice cloning adds a second rule.** Several vendors require the speaker's authorization, separate from the licence.
> - **Broadcast, resale and AI-training terms differ.** Read them before TV, radio, or reselling voices.

## Commercial use of AI voiceovers

Yes, if your plan includes commercial rights at the time you generate the audio. Paid plans usually do, and free plans usually don't.

Three things decide whether a given use is allowed:

1. **The plan** you generated on. This is the most common point of failure.
2. **The use.** Monetized video, client work and ads are normally covered. Broadcast, resale of the voices themselves and training other AI models are often treated separately.
3. **The voice.** A stock voice and a cloned voice carry different obligations. For cloned voices, you need consent from the speaker.

If you are asking whether AI voice use is legal at all, that is a different question, covered in our guide on [whether voice cloning is legal](https://kveeky.com/blog/is-voice-cloning-legal-ai-rights-guide).

## Commercial rights by plan

In the 10 tools below, no free plan allows commercial use. Each tool lists commercial rights on a paid plan, though the wording and extra restrictions differ.

Facts come from each vendor's own pages, retrieved October 7–8, 2026. "Not verified" means we could not confirm it on the vendor's own page, so we left it out rather than guess. Use the filter to jump to a tool or a term.

<div style="margin:16px 0 12px"><label for="cr-q" style="display:block;margin-bottom:6px;font:600 15px/1.4 var(--kv-font-body);color:var(--kv-gray-800)">Filter the table by tool or term (for example "cloning", "broadcast" or "Murf")</label><input id="cr-q" type="search" placeholder="Type to filter the rows" style="width:100%;box-sizing:border-box;min-height:44px;padding:0 12px;border:1px solid var(--kv-blue-100);border-radius:var(--kv-radius-sm);font:400 16px/1 var(--kv-font-body);color:var(--kv-gray-800);background:var(--kv-white)"><p id="cr-qc" aria-live="polite" style="margin:8px 0 0;font:400 14px/1.4 var(--kv-font-body);color:var(--kv-gray-600)"></p><script>(function(){try{var q=document.getElementById('cr-q'),t=document.getElementById('cr-table'),c=document.getElementById('cr-qc');if(!q||!t)return;function f(){var s=q.value.toLowerCase().trim(),rs=t.querySelectorAll('tbody tr'),n=0;for(var i=0;i<rs.length;i++){var ok=!s||rs[i].textContent.toLowerCase().indexOf(s)>-1;rs[i].style.display=ok?'':'none';if(ok)n++}c.textContent=s?('Showing '+n+' of '+rs.length+' tools.'):''}q.addEventListener('input',f)}catch(e){}})();</script></div>

Two cases need extra care. Voice.ai's pricing page lists a commercial licence on Starter, while its terms of service say commercial use needs a separate agreement, so ask them before relying on it. Murf lists broadcast rights as an Enterprise add-on, so standard plans may not cover TV or radio.

## Cost to unlock commercial use

A low price isn't the whole story. A $54 plan that covers about 35 minutes a month may be too small for a weekly show. Our guide to the [best AI voice generator for small business](https://kveeky.com/blog/best-ai-voice-generator-small-business) works out cost per finished minute for most of these plans.

## Commercial use on free plans

No. Treat every free plan as a trial, even when the audio sounds identical to the paid version.

- **ElevenLabs** says free users may use the service only for non-commercial purposes.
- **Narakeet** says commercial use is not allowed for any content created using a free account.
- **Typecast** requires attribution on content downloaded on the free plan.
- **Fliki** puts a watermark on free video and gives free exports no commercial rights.

**What if you upgrade later?** None of the vendors we checked says that audio made on a free plan becomes commercial after you upgrade. Narakeet's wording ties rights to content created with a commercial account. The safe approach is to regenerate anything important after upgrading, and to keep a dated copy of the plan terms.

## Cloned voice permissions

Yes. A commercial licence covers what you may do with the audio, not whose voice it is. Cloning rules sit on top.

- ElevenLabs requires that you be authorized to share the voice you clone.
- Listnr requires the clear, verifiable consent of the voice owner.
- Voice.ai requires explicit legal authorization from the person whose voice is used.
- Fliki prohibits deepfakes made without consent.

In practice, get a signed release from the speaker that names the uses (ads, courses, client work) and the length of time. For the wider picture, see [ethical implications of voice cloning](https://kveeky.com/blog/ethical-implications-of-voice-cloning-for-video-production) and our hub on [voice cloning](https://kveeky.com/blog/voice-cloning-duplicate-your-voice-in-minutes).

## What Kveeky includes

Every paid [Kveeky](https://kveeky.com/) plan includes commercial usage rights for generated audio. Basic is $9/month, or $7.50/month billed yearly for 100 minutes, with 700+ voices. See the pricing page for what each plan includes, including voice cloning. The free plan (500 credits a month, about 40 seconds) is for testing.

Kveeky's pricing page states the commercial-rights line and nothing wider, so we don't claim broadcast, resale or other special licences. If your use goes beyond a normal video, ad or client project, ask first. See the [Kveeky pricing page](https://kveeky.com/pricing/) for the current plans.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use AI voiceovers for YouTube videos I monetize?

Yes, on a paid plan that includes commercial rights. Generate the audio on that plan, not on a free plan, and check whether attribution is required.

### Can I use a free AI voice generator for client work?

No. In all 10 tools we checked, free-plan output is non-commercial, and Typecast also needs attribution. Use a paid plan for client work.

### Does audio from a free plan become commercial if I upgrade?

None of the vendors we checked says so. Rights usually apply to content created on the paid plan, so regenerate important audio after upgrading.

### Do I need permission to clone someone's voice?

Yes. Vendors such as ElevenLabs, Listnr and Voice.ai require authorization or verifiable consent from the voice owner. Get a signed release naming the uses.

### Can I resell AI voices as my own voice library?

Usually not. ElevenLabs bars reselling credits, and Voice.ai bars selling or sublicensing its services. Selling finished audio you made on a paid plan is different from reselling the voices.

### Is this legal advice?

No. It summarizes vendor pages as of October 8, 2026. For contracts or broadcast, ask the vendor and a lawyer.

## How we checked this guide

This guide is written by Hitesh Kumawat for the Kveeky team. **Disclosure: Kveeky makes an AI voice generator.** We list Kveeky in the table with only the rights line on its pricing page. Prices and terms for the other tools were read on their own pages; anything we could not confirm is marked as not verified.

Your next step: pick the one job you most need commercial rights for, then open that vendor's terms page and save a dated copy. If it's a normal video, ad or client project, try the free plan first, then upgrade before you publish on the [Kveeky pricing page](https://kveeky.com/pricing/).
